Pascal Benjamin: “London is one of my favorite cities to play.”
Ahead of his set at Orange Yard on Dec 14th, Amsterdam’s young talent Pascal Benjamin shares his feelings about playing in London and selects 5 tracks that have influenced his sound.
“ Somehow London feels a bit like home to me. Last time in London was for the Infuse & SlapFunk - Halloween ‘freak show’. We got the privilege to play 8-hours long set. The energy during the set (and the whole day) was magical. This was together with my buddy Laidlaw and Julian Anthony. This will be my 5th time to play in London and I can’t wait to be back.”
Asked about the tracks that have influenced his sound, Pascal says: “It’s hard to say really, there is so much music that inspires me.”
Maurizio - Untitled (M4 - A1)
One of the first producers that made a huge impact on me was Maurizio. No nonsense - just fully analog music. I guess it kind of started with him. (among many others...)
Neurotron - After The Rain
Whenever I’m opening for a club or a festival, this record always creates the perfect mood.
Honeydrop - Drop 2
I played this one at The Zoo Project - Ibiza last summer. Brings me back every time.. A true Cabinet ‘classic’.
Saurus - Sex Line
This is the perfect record for a morning DJ set. I can picture sun shining trough the windows, myself playing, having fun together with my friends.
Fast Eddie - Solar Soundscape
During the year I had the honor of closing a few parties and played this track every time. After-hour bliss all over it.
